Pièges (paysages 1)

A long-term photographic series in which I explore the idea of landscape as a trap and a simulacrum. By drawing on an aesthetic form that has always sought to mask the violence inflicted on the territories it aims to represent, I seek to adopt perspectives where this violence becomes apparent, both through certain aspects of staging—which trap both the participants and the viewer’s gaze—and by seeking to capture what lies behind these staged scenes.
The “trap” and the “simulacrum” are also taken in their literal sense, allowing me to develop a body of images that is not frozen in its own melancholy—where artistic invention, without softening the violence, accompanies it and fuels reflection.
