“Makita (The Birth of a Mountain)” is an analogy that offers an anthropocentric extrapolation. Originally, it was through force that humans sought to dominate their environment. Then their intelligence ended up causing even more damage. The film also alludes to Latour’s “muscular analogy,” which illustrates the vision of an Earth’s envelope endowed with attentional tone, feedback, and sensitivity.
